The blog title comes from the song September Grass written by
John Sheldon and sung by James Taylor.
Do you see those antsDANCING ON A BLADE OF GRASS?Do you know what I know? That’s you and me baby. We’re so small and the world’s so vast.
I like to think that the ants represent us – tiny beings in a great big world.

I LOVE September Grass. I was singing it along with James Taylor as I drove down from Hell’s Hole on Monday. Nice to learn where your blog’s sweet name came from.

Isn’t it a wonderful song? We had it played at our wedding and, a week or so before that, I had 2 messages from John Sheldon, the song’s composer:
“Sandy, thank you for your message. In my version of “Sept Grass”, those ants were merely “crawling” on that blade. James made them “dance”. They’re still crawling in my version…oh well. The main thing is, I’m glad you noticed those ants…I think they are the heroes of the song. Cheers, and thanks again…JIS”
“Dear Sandy, how wonderful to hear that Sept Grass is so much a part of your life. I am honored that you would consider it for your ceremony. I wish you and Clive the best of luck. John Sheldon”

Nice!
You’ve given the song more meaning for me!
