Spotted in town …

I noticed these doorstop animals with quizzical faces in a shop in town last week and couldn’t resist taking a photo of them!

They made me think of the Shabby Chic Ladies – no, not in appearance – but in sewing potential!

Another Award!

Well, what can I say?  I’ve been given a Kreativ Blogger award by the wonderful Shabby Angel …. even though she was rather vague as to how to claim it!

I expect she’s still waiting for her Newt Spotting Award!  So, I’ll have to work on that one.

Thanks again, Angelika!

Utility Room Re-Vamp

I’ve just realised that I never got around to posting a photograph of the utility room, which Mr Dancing did at the same time as updating the kitchen .

Many months ago, I salvaged some cupboard doors and drawer fronts from a skip up the road.  They are the same type as the original wooden ones we have in the kitchen.  Mr Dancing cut them to size for the utility sink unit - and painted them the same Farrow & Ball Green Blue as the kitchen base units.  The existing melamine faced wall units were painted Clunch (again as the kitchen ones) as were some VERY inexpensive chunky pine shelves from Wilkinsons.  Amazing what a bit of paint can do!

The small table used to live here but has been to Brighton and Shoreham and has now come back home! The 20 year old vinyl was replaced by oak effect flooring and I bought a new coloured stripey runner from Crucial Trading and that was about it.

Thank you Mr Dancing.

AFTER

Oh yes – and this went on the wall ….

In response to Shabby Chick Little Gem’s request, here’s another view:-

Giveaway

I got these shelves from Freecycle when we were re-doing the Utility Room with a view to painting them cream. Unfortunately they are just a little bit too big … so if anyone reading this would like them, they are welcome to collect. The measurements are – Height 81 cm, Depth 18 cm and Length 110 cm.

I just wish I had room for them here …. but they just WON’T fit.
