Had a brisk walk in the rain this morning – it was lovely. Got soaked but it was actually quite warm and refreshing!
In the charity shop I bought a lovely craft book, which I thought might help me get to grips with crochet. The book is about 30 years old but has all the basics of knitting, crochet and embroidery and some rather interesting retro patterns.
This afternoon I settled down to a bit of practice, mainly to get into the rhythm of it all. The piece looks a bit raggedy-edged and also I’m not sure whether I am placing the hook correctly to make the stitch. In the diagram it clearly shows going through the chain stitch, but that results in a kind of horizontal rib effect. I experimented with going under the chain stitch and like that look better.When I’m feeling brave I’ll post a photo!
