David Tennant’s Brother?

Well, this young man looks as though he is related to The Doctor, with his slight build, similar hairstyle and glasses.  He, too, seemingly has amazing magical powers of persuasion and charisma.  I missed him on BBC Breakfast TV the other morning but am delighted to discover that Gareth Malone’s series The Choir is back on Tuesday evenings!

Butterflies and Mackerel

This afternoon we walked in a quiet place a few miles from here.  It was beautiful.  The weather was hot and windy and there was a hint of a mackerel sky .  At the start of our trek uphill, we passed a lady walking a golden retriever but after that, we had the place to ourselves. There were dozens of brightly coloured Chalk Hill Blue butterflies fluttering by and landing on flowers and seemingly following us on our way.  In the far distance we could hear machinery and eventually saw that a farmer was baling hay.  There were subtle signs from the reddening rosehips that autumn may be with us before long.  But, for now, we had an exquisite taste of summer.

14 August was a notable date for the wedding last week but it was also notable as it was this young wedding guest’s 4th birthday …

and on 14 August,  38 years ago, I too was getting married …

A Wiltshire Wedding

It was another BIG day last Friday 14 August.  Mr Dancing’s elder son got married!  What a brilliant day it was.
