It’s all very fine when it WORKS! A few weeks ago my Google Blogger just seized up which resulted in me transferring to WordPress (and I’m glad I did now).
This morning, when I switched on the computer and attempted to log on as usual, entering the password I use everyday and which I know to be correct, I was told, in no uncertain terms “User profile service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded” Aaaaaargh. This meant that I could not even access the administration part of the computer to put it right – double aaaaargh.
This evening, by way of an experiment, I re-booted the computer in Safe Mode and selected a System Restore point prior to today, then re-booted again and was able to log on and access all my files!
What a HUGE relief – I had visions of hours and hours of work doing stuff with the registry that I wouldn’t really understand.
PHEW!
Apologies for this boring techie post but I had to tell SOMEONE!
